Technical data about the itinerary

General information
This is a short itinerary through Soave’s streets, discovering the life and works of the painter Adolfo Mattielli. The itinerary is suitable for everyone, with the exception of for the segment than leads to Mattielli’s studio, which is challenging to reach with baby strollers and for those with limited mobility, as it is along the medieval road. It is possible to skip this stop and go directly to the next one.
The full walk will take about 1h 30m.

Brief description of the itinerary
he route begins at Mattielli’s home near Porta Vicenza. Next you will be taken along Via Roma where an old Soave café can been seen (next to the current “Bar Mattielli”) for which Mattielli created a large painting titled “The Bacchanalia”.
The itinerary proceeds towards the parish church where you can observe several of Mattielli’s frescoes. You then continue on to his studio along the medieval road, crossing one of the more fascinating part of Soave.
Next, you will arrive at the entrance to the Della Scala castle where you will have a nice view over the city.
The last stop is the Bassanella Sanctuary that houses many of Mattielli’s sacred art paintings, including the fresco of Mary
